I am going for my AA at the moment. I enjoy being active by doing things like rockclimbing, snowboarding, working out at the gym and playing sports when I get the chance. I am artsy, I paint, make jewelery and play a little bass guitar.

History; Am an immigrant from Idaho, the eldest of four sons. Was smuggled to eastern Washington at the age of 4 in the back seat of a 1948 Plymouth where I grew up and left the day after I finished highschool. Arrived in Bluegene (think about it), Oregon in the late 60's (think about that too) and lived there for over 20 years. In the mid-'70's change my major from Philosophy/psychology to Architecture and graduated with honors in 1980 from the U of O.

Have been a reg.arch. in 5 states (Or., Hi., Nv., Co. & Wa.) Returned to the Tri-Cities area (eastern Wa.) around 5 years ago from Colorado through a series of circumstance and the fact that my step-fathers health was failing. A year afterwards he had a major stroke and passed on some months later. Since then have been using this area as a homebase (here around 4-5 months out of the year) so can help out and spend some quality time with my mother (you only have one).

Am a gypsy architect/builder (scientist/artist). Work around eight months out of the year mostly in the Pudget Sound area, 25% of that time is doing design, the balance building in the field, primarily on upper middle to high end residential projects. Enjoy residential work, it's intimate. Own every tool there is to build a house and am skilled in all fields. Spent over three months this winter on a Vashon Island waterfront project. Am a minimalist, believe in having a few qualitative essentials and that access is better than ownership, so, am basically free. Am quite fearless.

Presently, with my spare time am working on another book with my partner (who lives on Vashon). It will be focused on autonomous regionalism and the establishement of sustainable villages identifying their landuse, food and shelter potentialities.

Thirty years ago we came up with a housing system which is cost effective, trans-cultural, enviromentally benign (earth-integrated), passively heated and cooled (energy-efficient) which can be mass produced (eliminating piece by piece dead tree construction) with curvilinear re-usable formwork (there is no reason why we can't build sculpture that we live in). This system easily integrates with our land -use philosophy based on the preservation of agriculture soils and creating minimal impact at the man/enviroment interface. Am using the Skagit River watershed as our pure theory (carrying capacity) model set in the year 2050. We are writing and doing the presentation drawings, protoyping (have built structures in place) and documenting. Though for the past 30 years this work has propietary and patented we are close to (estimate 2 yrs.) putting it on the internet and giving it away for free. We realized decades ago that the ideas and premises of our work would not be realized in our lifetimes, but it's been fun and everything but boring. It is a synergetic experssion of our true natures.

Worldview; EVERYTHING IS SPIRITUAL

Am an old dharmabum, a Tibetan/Bon buddhist dzogchen practicioner. I have no daily practice, no shrine. Believe that everything is intrinsically pure and non-dual. Am present, 24-7-365 (whether I know it or not). Am in a contemplative state for the most part. Am intrigued with the knowingness beyond words,the knowhere in knowtime in knowplace.......

Health; Am physical (doing construction, riding my bike, hiking, etc.. Take no prescription or over the counter drugs, have seen two doctors in past 25 years, smoke 3-5 cigarettes a day (bullshit myself into thinking they ground me, fact is I like them), don't drink alcohol (not that I haven't).

Interests; Reading, gardening, writing and drawing. The evolution of consciousness, Livingry systems (not killingry), cooking, poetry, systems theory, astronomy, life-long learning, etc... I play the blues harp, love to dance and don't care who's watching.... Enjoy psycho/philosophical dialogues, love creating beauty.... have saved lives and tried and loss, experiences of which have integrated....have comprehensive understanding in meditation/contemplation systems, tantra, and yoga (Kundalini).... consuming fast food and red meat is a rarity for me....... rescue and help small critters, children, the elderly and old Hawaiian shirts and books from thrift stores... listen to NPR (KLCC out of Eugene) occasionally, don't watch tv except for specials on PBS (but could share a movie).... like to wear carharts with suspenders (worked in the woods for 4 years, they're comfortable and last) but have all the costumes (except a tux)..... camp, hike, fly-fish for steelhead (catch and release) in the fall and winter, there is more of course....feel free to ask.........

I'm a new-age ska kid through and through. The more horns, the better. I really enjoy music and I'll listen to about any type of music there is (so rap/hip-hop and poppy-autotuner-noise need not apply). If you know what skank is (and I'm not talking about that girl in high school that nobody liked) then you are automatically my friend.
I prefer watching movies over reading books and I enjoy making movies as well. I think of myself as an amateur film critic and whenever I go see and new movie, I just have to pull it apart. Come to think of it, I do the same thing with people... I'm a little bit of a psychoanalyst. Don't worry, though because it's really not that big of a deal whether or not I pick apart your brain. It won't affect anything.
I'm also an atheistic pagan (Celtic Draconic... If that means anything to you).
